Meet the guides

Zach Bruce | Outfitter / Owner

"I started hunting jack rabbits on the fringes of hay fields when I was five. I used an old pump action .22 my dad had. Five hundred rounds in a nights was common between the two of us. My first archery experience was with my dad as well. We hunted a couple of days and what seemed like a thousand miles for an 8 year old. These experiences really cemented a passion of hunting and the outdoors in me. Very few hunting seasons have passed since then that I haven’t been either a hunter or a spectator. In 2010 I had the first opportunity to make my passion my work. I guided/outfitted a few mule deer and elk hunts on a small ranch in eastern Oregon. Five years later, I moved onto a much larger ranch and continued to hunt upland birds, bear, antelope, white tail, mule deer, elk, and even a cougar opportunity every once in awhile. More recently I have started to acquire BLM and National Forest permits and a couple personally leased properties.

Although hunting is my life, it is still 3rd behind my family and my faith. My wife and three kids support my never ending adventures and accompany me on a few every year. We are conservation minded, animal quality minded, and future generations minded. I hope to share a thousand more adventures with many who are like-minded.”

"I’ve been hunting, or in the outdoors, since I could walk. Some of my first memories are shooting squirrels with a .22 pump action rifle that was my grandpa’s. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a drive to hunt and be in what I like to call, God’s Country. Archery hunting is one of my favorite activities. I’ll never forget chasing big bulls all over the wilderness of western Montana. The exuberant feeling I obtained from not only that, but from my many other experiences in the outdoors is what drove me to be a hunting guide. I don’t just love pulling the trigger, but I love helping other people do it. I believe I have one of the best jobs on the planet. Being that I get to share the laughter and memories as well as share that same feeling of exuberance and excitement with my clients. I believe any animal deserves a deep respect, predator, or prey. I hope I can make many more memories while respecting these animals with my clients."

"When I grew up hunting wasn’t a hobby, it was a way to put food on the table. I started going elbow deep in deer and elk starting at the age of 5. Although it started as grocery shopping it didn’t take long to becoming an obsession. Hunting for anything and everything I could from varmints to bird, along with big game. Lucky for me, I had very good mentors which allowed me to be very successful. I may not know how to read books but I can read animals. My obsession really took off after high school when I decided not to play college football because it took from hunting. After years of successful hunting I got the pleasure to guide my little sister on her first buck. The joy from her is what started my guiding career. Allowing me to stay in the woods even after my tag is filled was a bonus to seeing the joy on peoples faces after achieving their hunting success.
Some reasons I guide is for the challenge and respect of these animals as well as the value to share my passion with others!"

"I have been hunting with my father and older brother, Zach, since I could walk the hills. I was taught the habits of wildlife from a very young age and it has benefited me greatly in personal hunts and in guiding countless clients. I have been a professional guide since 2015 and a Registered Oregon Outfitter since 2018. My main hobby is getting outdoors and doing a number of activities, such as shed hunting, long range shooting and big game/predator hunting. I am a father of three; two daughters and a son."
